TAB and The American Society of Mexico, A.C., Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Mexico City, July 13, 2022 – The Texas Association of Business (TAB) and The American Society of Mexico, A.C. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to combine efforts that support companies looking to do business on both sides of the border.

With this agreement, both organizations commit to work jointly to optimize international economic policies, encourage dialogue between the binational business communities, promote sustainable development, and to increase investments between Mexico and Texas.

The Agreement was signed by Glenn Hamer, President and CEO of TAB; Larry Rubin, President of The American Society of Mexico, A.C. Rolando Pablos, Chair of TAB’s International Trade & Commerce Committee and Guillermo Schiefer, Director of the International Leaders Council of The American Society of Mexico, A.C., witnessed the signing of the agreement.

“As Texas’ top trading partner, our relationship with Mexico is critical to the state’s overall economic health. Trade with Mexico supports about half of the one million jobs in Texas connected to international trade. Trade between Texas and Mexico amounted to $231 billion during 2021,” said Glenn Hamer, TAB President & CEO. “This agreement will help grow those numbers and support businesses looking to expand in between the two regions.”

“Our deep cultural roots, in combination with Texas’ strategic geographic location, make this important relationship with the Texas Association of Business a valuable opportunity to expand this cross-border market,” said Larry Rubin, President of The American Society of Mexico, A.C. “Almost 30% of the Texas population speaks Spanish, influencing organizations and businesses who pursue successful strategies for their operations and performance in both sides of the border.”
