Texas Association of Business (TAB) CEO, Glenn Hamer today released a statement after the Texas Senate passed COVID Liability Protections for businesses, health care providers, educational institutions, non-profits, and religious institutions. Senate Bill 6, sponsored by Senator Kelly Hancock (R-North Richland Hills) will now go to the House for consideration.
“TAB applauds the Texas Senate and in particular Senator Hancock and Lieutenant Governor Patrick for their commitment to safeguarding businesses from frivolous lawsuits by passing Senate Bill 6,” said TAB CEO Glenn Hamer. “Texas is once-again stepping up while the federal government falters by providing liability protections for enterprises that are essential to reviving our economy. The Lone Star State is fortunate to have these leaders in the Senate as well as Governor Abbott and Speaker Phelan who are working to make our state even more business-friendly and lead the nation out of the COVID economic downturn.”
