Austin — Texas Association of Business (TAB), the state chamber, announces its team led by Glenn Hamer. Glenn Hamer, President and CEO, hit the ground running. He testified before the 87th Legislature on his second day and helped steer the Association to achieve its top legislative priorities during the regular and following three special sessions. Glenn came to TAB after serving 14 years as CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He specializes in trade, immigration, tax, and education policies.
“Every business owner knows the secret to success is hiring good people,” said TAB CEO Glenn Hamer. “With these individuals, I am confident we will help Texas retain its title as the Best State for Business.” Stephanie Matthews, promoted to Executive Vice President, has strong roots in Texas politics. She worked in the Legislative Office for former Governor George W. Bush, served as Chief of Staff in the Texas Senate, and became the first-ever VP of Legislative Affairs for the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Stephanie oversees advocacy, coalitions, and operations at TAB. Jessica Attas, promoted to President of the TAB Foundation, has over a decade of organizational and nonprofit leadership experience. She served as Vice President of Public Policy for the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce. As Senior Vice President for the Association, Jessica managed finance and operations, modernized membership structures, and led the organization through governance and bylaws work.
Megan Herring Mauro, promoted to Senior Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, helped TAB achieve one of its most successful legislative sessions in its history. Megan’s policy prowess is shaped by seven years as a legislative analyst for Texas Star Alliance, a bipartisan government affairs firm. TAB veteran, Aaron Cox, will continue serving as Senior Vice President of Chamber Relations. Through his leadership at TAB and the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Association has maintained strong grassroots advocacy and coalitions, creating positive business solutions.
Scott Smith, Director of Membership and Investor Relations, speaks the language of both the private and public sectors. He previously worked with Fortune 500 clients in addition to U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and former Governor Rick Perry. Katie Greer, Director of Communications, came to TAB after serving as Communications Director for State Senator Jane Nelson – prior to which she was an editor in the Office of Governor Greg Abbott.
