Businesses Thank the Texas House for Passing House Bill 5

Austin, TX — As the Texas State Chamber, The Texas Association of Business (TAB) today released a statement thanking the Texas House for passing House Bill 5, The Texas Jobs and Security Act by Chairman Todd Hunter:


“Texas is one step closer to retaining its title as the no. 1 state for economic development,” said TAB CEO Glenn Hamer. “We thank Speaker Dade Phelan, Chairman Todd Hunter and all 77 co-authors for getting HB 5 passed out of the House. As companies consider where to locate multi-billion-dollar advanced manufacturing and energy projects, we want them to choose Texas. House Bill 5 is the deal sealer communities need.”


Over 255 organizations, including 100 chambers of commerce, support HB 5. The bill establishes a new, modern and transparent economic development program to help Texas communities attract capital-intensive projects that create jobs and long-term revenue for public services, such as schools.
