Dream Big Texas

Dream Big Texas

A Nation and a State Tested

We´re being tested like no other time in our history, and how we respond today to the challenge that lies before us will define our nation for generations to come.

Here in Texas, we’ve weathered the recession better than most, but economists predict Texas will need to create 2,162,359 jobs in the next decade to make up for those lost in the recession and to allow for full employment of new entrants into the workforce in the coming 10 years.

While Washington bureaucrats press for increased federal spending and stimulus programs, such government efforts to revive our economy deliver only short-term gains and represent a short-sighted approach to true economic recovery and job creation.

Only the free enterprise system can deliver sustained economic growth and spur meaningful job creation.

The Solution—Dream Big, Texas

The Texas Association of Business, our members and coalition partners represent the very lifeblood of the Texas economy. We are the taxpayers. We are the job creators. We are the defenders of freedom. We are the dream builders.

Free enterprise is the reason the Texas Association of Business exists, and it is the free enterprise system that we will vigorously promote and defend without fear or favor.

That´s why under the auspices of the Texas Association of Business, we are proud to launch the Dream Big, Texas campaign for the promotion and defense of the free enterprise system in our state and our nation.

Dream Big, Texas and our defense of free enterprise are focused on five core principles:

  • Good jobs, good wages and good benefits should be bountiful;
  • A job is a solution to most every social problem Americans and Texans face;
  • Free enterprise delivers personal freedom and fosters wealth creation for all Texans;
  • Our future generations must understand the value of free enterprise and must be well educated and workforce-ready; and
  • From Wall Street to Main Street, individual initiative and freedom to innovate are keys to our country’s long-term prosperity.
    • Pledge their support publicly for Dream Big, Texas;
    • Support our efforts financially; and
    • Agree to mobilize to press Washington and Austin lawmakers to defend—not destroy—our free enterprise system.

Dream Big, Texas aims to build upon the job creation gains Texas has made in the last decade and our state´s position as a beacon state and economic powerhouse. If we are to create the nearly 2.2 million jobs we need to sustain our economic growth, prosperity and freedom, we must stand up and fight against government efforts to weigh free enterprise down and extinguish the American Dream whose very foundation rests on a vibrant, free enterprise system.
